This is a great resource, try zooming in and zooming out, get directions from your address and print them for your journey, you can even switch to satellite view (you can almost see your car in the parking lot).

BY COACH
-
For larger groups from the Lothian area, Benmore can arrange coach transport, the current (2008- 2009) cost of which is about £25 per person. This price is based on a full coach, small groups may be required to meet the full cost. Please phone for more details.

BY CAR
-
The easiest way to get to the Centre by car is to drive to Gourock and catch either one of the two Clyde ferries, Western Ferries or CalMac to Dunoon. For current timetable and cost, click the appropriate link. From either ferry terminal head north and, after a couple of miles, drive through the village of Sandbank on the A815. From here, stick on the main road and follow signs for Benmore Botanic Garden and turn left into the Garden car park when you reach it.
Ahead is a bridge over the River Eachaig drive over this, ignoring the private signs, turn right and follow the tarmac road round for some 500m until a T junction at the top of a hill. Follow the sign left for Benmore Centre, across a cattle grid, and follow the tarmac road till you see the big house on your left. Carry on past the house on the tarmac road and then turn sharp left to park at the front of the Centre.
If you fancy a more scenic (but longer) route, take the Loch Lomond road (A82) and carry on through to Arrochar (A83) and over the Rest and Be Thankful through the ‘Arrochar Alps’, turning left on the Dunoon road (A815) just before Cairndow village. Stay on this road through the village of Strachur and south to Loch Eck on your right; about a mile past the end of the loch is the Benmore Botanic Garden on the right.

PUBLC TRANSPORT

There are train and bus links to the Clyde ferries from Gourock to Dunoon and the Centre can meet the ferry with a minibus if arranged well in advance.
